Parking in SF
I am never driving up to San Francisco again. This is the second time that someone broke my window, looked through the inside of my car, found out that I don’t keep anything valuable in my car, and left me with a broken window and the contents of my glove compartment spread out on the passenger seat.

people don’t break into cars in Santa Cruz?
I’m sorry to hear it.
I’ve never had that problem in SF myself. Where in the city were you?
yeah, sorry, it sucks. Sorry my first response was so short.
Did you have a blanket spread out or something that might indicate you were hiding something valuable in there?
Maybe you need a sign, like those “baby on board” things: “nothing of value on board”
I’m sorry stupid jerks broke into your car. You could always try some insurance fraud and claim they stole your $5400 stereo.
Someone broke into my friend’s car and stole all his change from the ash tray. Well, they actually sorted through the change and left all the pennies, taking everything else.
Well my car didn’t have anything in it that looked valuable. After the first time my car got broken into I always made sure to clean out my car of anything that might look valuable. I realized later on that they did take one thing. They took my tape player to mp3 converter that I keep in my glove compartment.
In Santa Cruz I have parking that is off the street. This limits the amount of traffic and I would think that a robber would target a different car than mine.
The whole thing happened on Octavia near Oak street. It’s where 101 dumps you into San Francisco if you stay on it. It is pretty well lit and on a well trafficked portion of the city. I guess there are a fair number of car thieves in the area.
